Different paths but one mountain
Lately, I've been thinking that we're all trying to get to the same place—a place of love and peace in the present. I like to think of this place as the top of the mountain. The mountain is vast, big, and tall. It has many sides, and there are an infinite number of ways to go up the mountain and reach the peak. But there is only one peak—the highest part of the mountain.
The reason I've been thinking about this is because of I’ve been meeting new people. I've listened to people's experiences that they've shared, the lessons they've learned, and the advice they've given. I'm very grateful for that. I think one of the coolest parts of my life is hearing what so many people think about a particular topic.
It's amazing to see all these different minds, perspectives, and viewpoints on a topic and how everyone's experiences and advice apply. I have talked to people from all different religions—Christians, Muslims, Jews, people from Hindu philosophies, and Buddhist traditions. When it comes to food, there are all kinds of different paths too—vegans, carnivores, and others. We're all going up the mountain, trying to reach the peak. We're all trying to get to the same place, and it's okay to take different paths.
If everyone took the same path up the mountain, we wouldn’t learn much, and it would be quite boring for 8 billion people to go up the same path. So, I celebrate that we've chosen different paths based on our needs, history, and life circumstances.
It's really cool to think about all of us going up the mountain, some of us on our own paths, others together. We can see each other, talk, communicate, and learn from each other. Sometimes we see someone ahead of us doing something we wouldn’t have thought of before. We can choose to use that knowledge or not, go up the same path, or choose our own.
I wish you luck on this journey up the mountain, and I hope to reach that peak and sit with you there.
